The S.O.A.R Program

S.O.A.R: Supporting a Positive School Community

At Stratford Road, we are committed to creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive learning environment for every child. Our S.O.A.R Program is a school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system designed to proactively teach, reinforce, and celebrate positive behavior.

S.O.A.R stands for:

S – Safe
Students learn how to make choices that keep themselves and others safe.

O – On-Task
Students practice staying focused, following directions, and putting their best effort into learning.

A – Accepting
We encourage kindness, inclusivity, and embracing differences within our school community.

R – Respectful
Students show respect through their words, actions, and daily interactions.

How the Program Works

Throughout the year, students are taught what S.O.A.R looks like in all areas of the school, including, classrooms, hallways, the playground, the cafeteria, and more. Staff members regularly acknowledge students who demonstrate these expectations by giving S.O.A.R Points, which help each class work toward a monthly school reward.

Each month, classes aim for a target number of points to unlock a fun school-wide reward.

Working Together

The success of the S.O.A.R program depends on students, staff, and families working together. By promoting safe, responsible, and respectful behavior, we ensure that Stratford Road is a place where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
